The National Review has an article about the Supreme Court nominee and her dismissal of the second amendment.  In the article, Robert Alt explains the reasoning that Judge Sotomayor gave and based her decision on.  To believe that the Bill of Rights does not apply to the states and local government ignores the right of due process.  There is a long history of enforcing the Bill of Rights at all levels of government.  I doubt she would not say that the right for women to vote is only at the Federal level.  The bottom line is that we do not get our rights from the government in America.  We form governments to protect those rights.  No local, state or federal government should ever stop protecting our rights, else we have no use for them and should kick them out.
